Syntypes: (many) USNM 44271 (2). Original genus should have been Macrourus. •Valid as Nezumia liolepis (Gilbert 1890) -- (Iwamoto & Stein 1974:46 [ref. 7509], Iwamoto 1979:157 [ref. 2311], Iwamoto in Cohen et al. 1990:274 [ref. 18936], Iwamoto & Schneider in Fischer et al. 1995:1265 [ref. 22830], Hoff 1999:115 [ref. 24458], Love et al. 2005:54 [ref. 37547], Robertson et al. 2017:56 [ref. 35676], Burton & Lea 2019:49 [ref. 37205], Cruz-Azevedo & Aguirre-Villaseñor 2020:4 [ref. 37772], Love et al. 2021:78 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:101 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Nezumia liolepis (Gilbert 1890). Macrouridae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern Washington (U.S.A.) south to Costa Rica, including Gulf of California (Mexico). Habitat: marine.
