phaiosoma, Hemirhamphus Bleeker [P.] 1852:99 [Natuurkundig Tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch IndiĆ« v. 3 (no. 1); ref. 16831] Tjirutjup River, Blitong [Billiton] Island, Indonesia. Holotype (unique): BMNH 1866.5.2.21. Bleeker specimens: RMNH 6960 (5, poor condition). Original genus is correctly Hemiramphus. Spelled phaeosoma by Weber 1894:456 [ref. 14569]. •Valid as Hemirhamphodon phaiosoma (Bleeker 1852) -- (Roberts 1989:155 [ref. 6439], Anderson & Collette 1991:165 [ref. 19112], Brembach 1991:191 [ref. 20227], Kottelat et al. 1993:86 [ref. 23448], Kottelat & Lim 1996:244 [ref. 23210], Collette 2004:17 [ref. 27583], Tan & Lim 2013:735, 734 [ref. 32888], Kottelat 2013:294 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Hemirhamphodon phaiosoma (Bleeker 1852). Zenarchopteridae. Distribution: Biliton and Banka islands and off west coast of Kalimantan, Sumatra. Habitat: freshwater.
