Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Socotra (Yemen), Comoros, Madagascar and Mascarenes (Mauritius) east to Marshall Islands, Tonga and Rapa (French Polynesia), north to southern Japan, south to Western Australia, southern New South Wales (Australia) and New Caledonia. Habitat: marine.
