Current status: Valid as Chironemus maculosus (Richardson 1850). Chironemidae. Distribution: Southeastern Indian Ocean, southwestern Pacific: New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia; rare in New Zealand. Habitat: marine.
