Based on a drawing and manuscript by Burger (see Boeseman 1947:124 [ref. 12876]). •Valid as Pterogobius virgo (Temminck & Schlegel 1845) -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1975:371 [ref. 7348], Akihito in Masuda et al. 1984:280 [ref. 6441], Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:640 [ref. 25122], Nakabo 2000:1209 [ref. 25182], Shimizu 2001:40 [ref. 25799], Nakabo 2002:1209 [ref. 26193], Choi et al. 2003:400, 663 [ref. 26218], Shibukawa & Iwata 2013:49 [ref. 32580], Matsui et al. 2014:5 [ref. 33344], Kim et al. 2020:173 [ref. 39118], Sonoyama et al. 2020:107 [ref. 37637]). Current status: Valid as Pterogobius virgo (Temminck & Schlegel 1845). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: Korea and Japan. Habitat: marine.
