Type catalog: Koumans 1940:143 [ref. 2676] who lists SU 6743 as cotypes, Böhlke 1953:117 [ref. 12291], Ibarra & Stewart 1987:82 [ref. 12367]. •Synonym of Chaeturichthys sciistius Jordan & Snyder 1901 -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1975:392 [ref. 7348]). •Valid as Suruga fundicola Jordan & Snyder 1901 -- (Akihito in Masuda et al. 1984:279 [ref. 6441], Shinohara et al. 1996:183 [ref. 26605], Nakabo 2000:1207 [ref. 25182], Shinohara et al. 2001:331 [ref. 25995], Nakabo 2002:1207 [ref. 26193], Shinohara et al. 2005:438 [ref. 28370], Shibukawa & Iwata 2013:45 [ref. 32580], Matsui et al. 2014:6 [ref. 33344], Kim et al. 2020:175 [ref. 39118], Sonoyama et al. 2020:108 [ref. 37637]). Current status: Valid as Suruga fundicola Jordan & Snyder 1901. Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: East China Sea, Yellow Sea to Sea of Korea and Sea of Japan. Habitat: marine.
