Holotype (unique): AMS IB.1148. •Probable synonym of Schedophilus huttoni (Waite 1910) -- (Haedrich 1967:62 [ref. 5357]). •Valid as Tubbia tasmanica Whitley 1943 -- (Haedrich 1986:846 [ref. 5659], Paulin et al. 1989:234 [ref. 24556], Nakamura in Amaoka et al. 1990:319 [ref. 16024], Gomon et al. 1994:838 [ref. 22532], Parin & Piotrovsky 2004:S45 [ref. 28443], Hoese & Bray 2006:1792 [ref. 29000], Gomon 2008:800 [ref. 30616], Last et al. 2013:462 [ref. 32465], Duffy & Ahyong 2015:119 [ref. 36167], Stewart et al. 2015:1661 [ref. 34306]). Current status: Valid as Tubbia tasmanica Whitley 1943. Centrolophidae. Distribution: Southeastern Atlantic, southwestern Indian Ocean, southwestern Pacific: South Africa; southeastern Australia, New Zealand, Kermadec Islands. Habitat: marine.
