Paratypes: BMNH 1975.5.5.19 (1), BPBM 18079 (1). •Valid as Stonogobiops dracula Polunin & Lubbock 1977 -- (Hoese & Randall 1982:5 [ref. 5297], Randall & Goren 1993:21 [ref. 21131], Iwata & Hirata 1994:189 [ref. 21443], Myers 1999:241 [ref. 23965], Yoshino & Shimada 2001:408 [ref. 25786], Larson 2022:134 [ref. 39971]). Current status: Valid as Stonogobiops dracula Polunin & Lubbock 1977. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), Seychelles, western Mascarenes (La Réunion), Maldives. Habitat: marine.
