Paratypes: SAIAB [formerly RUSI] 879 (1). •Valid as Hetereleotris tentaculata (Smith 1958) -- (Hoese 1986:792 [ref. 5670] and Hoese 1986:14 [ref. 5996] with original genus as Dactyleotris, Heemstra et al. 2004:3329 [ref. 27945], Hoese & Larson 2005:15 [ref. 28571], Shibukawa 2010:90 [ref. 30808], Fricke et al. 2018:333 [ref. 35805], Kovačić et al. 2019:503 [ref. 36728]). Current status: Valid as Hetereleotris tentaculata (Smith 1958). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: South Africa and Mozambique to Madagascar and Seychelles. Habitat: marine.
