Current status: Valid as Microspathodon bairdii (Gill 1862). Pomacentridae: Microspathodontinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California (Mexico) to Ecuador, including Revillagigedo Islands (Mexico) and Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). Habitat: marine.
