kabiliensis, Brachygobius Inger [R. F.] 1958:110, Fig. 19 [Fieldiana Zoology v. 39 (no. 14); ref. 12074] Kabili River, Sandakan District, East Coast Residency, northern Borneo. Holotype: FMNH 47991. Paratypes: (7) FMNH 44989 (2), 59623 (5, now 4); UMMZ [ex FMNH 59623] (1, not found, apparently went to USNM); USNM 171753 [ex FMNH 59623] (1). Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:17 [ref. 12367]. •Valid as Brachygobius kabiliensis Inger 1958 -- (Miller 1989:380 [ref. 13540], Kottelat et al. 1993:143 [ref. 23448], Rainboth 1996:203 [ref. 22772] as kabilensis, Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:636 [ref. 25122], Larson 2001:51 [ref. 25522], Larson & Murdy 2001:3600 [ref. 26293], Larson et al. 2008:141 [ref. 29532], Shibukawa 2009:266 [ref. 30449], Kottelat 2013:403 [ref. 32989], Huang et al. 2014:108 [ref. 33161]). Current status: Valid as Brachygobius kabiliensis Inger 1958. Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Andaman Sea coast (southern Thailand), Singapore and northern Borneo (Malaysia). IUCN (2021): Least concern. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
