griseus, Abyssocottus godlewskii Taliev [D. N.] 1955:355, Figs. 20, 150-151 [ ref. 4316] Lake Baikal, Russia, depth 16-180 to 700 meters. Syntypes: none found at ZIN. Type catalog: Spodareva et al. 2023:242 [ref. 40445] with neotype. Appeared without distinguishing features and not available in Taliev 1948:113 [ref. 19628]. Neotype [ZIN 50804] apparently designated by Sideleva but not in conformance with the fourth edition of the Code. •Valid as Limnocottus griseus (Taliev 1955) -- (Sideleva 1982:30 [ref. 14469], Reshetnikov et al. 1997:760 [ref. 24702] dating to 1948, Sideleva 1998:157 [ref. 23595], Bogutskaya et al. 2001:47 [ref. 26178] dating to 1948, Kontula et al. 2003:149 [ref. 26791], Sideleva 2003:18, 197 [ref. 27815] dated to 1948, Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:199 [ref. 28183], Goto et al. 2014:[15] [ref. 33456], Bogdanov 2017:47 [ref. 37119], Dyldin et al. 2020:116 [ref. 37569]). •Valid as Abyssocottus griseus (Taliev 1955) -- (Bogdanov 2023:69 [ref. 40329]). Current status: Valid as Limnocottus griseus (Taliev 1955). Cottidae. Distribution: North Asia: Lake Baikal (Russia). Habitat: freshwater.
