Holotype (unique): ZSM [old collection] destroyed in WWII. Type information and lectotype designation: Whitehead 1970:36 [ref. 11605] but contested by Neumann 2006:274 [ref. 28925]. Also appeared as new in Kner & Steindachner 1864:21, Pl. 3 (fig. 2) [ref. 2649]. Not treated in Kullander & Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:39 [ref. 27061].
