Lectotype selected by Nielsen 1966:56 [ref. 9049]. •Valid as Ipnops agassizii Garman 1899 [sometimes as agassizi] -- (Sulak 1986:264 [ref. 5720], Sulak 1990:359 [ref. 15106], Pequeño 1997:81 [ref. 23536], Paxton & Niem 1999:1924 [ref. 24746], Mundy 2005:196 [ref. 28379], Castellanos-Galindo et al. 2006:252 [ref. 28944], Paxton et al. 2006:486 [ref. 28996], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:189 [ref. 30957], Russell 2016:1835 [ref. 34572], Fricke et al. 2018:72 [ref. 35805], Balushkin & Prirodina 2020:19 [ref. 37828]). Current status: Valid as Ipnops agassizii Garman 1899. Ipnopidae. Distribution: Atlantic, Indian and Pacific oceans. Habitat: marine.
