Holotype: USNM 92335. •Valid as Narcetes lloydi Fowler 1934 -- (Markle 1986:221 [ref. 5687], Shcherbachev et al. 1989:170 [ref. 36134], Fricke 1999:86 [ref. 24106], Sazonov 1998:451 [ref. 24862], Sazonov & Markle 1999:1893 [ref. 24739], Hutchins 2001:19 [ref. 25847], Sazonov & Williams 2001:S29 [ref. 26712], Hoese et al. 2006:390 [ref. 29035], Fricke et al. 2018:63 [ref. 35805], Fricke et al. 2019:58 [ref. 36673]). Current status: Valid as Narcetes lloydi Fowler 1934. Alepocephalidae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: South and East Africa, Seychelles and Madagascar east to Philippines and New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), north to off southern Japan, south to Lord Howe Island. Habitat: marine.
