Lectotype: RMNH 7104. Non-types: RMNH 24958 [ex 7104] (2). Based on literature and one specimen; for technical reasons the one specimen was designated lectotype by Eschmeyer 1998:757 [ref. 23416]. •Valid as Chirocentrus hypselosoma Bleeker 1852 -- (Kyushin et al. 1982:28 [ref. 19754]). •Synonym of Chirocentrus dorab (Forsskål 1775) -- (Whitehead 1985:23 [ref. 5141], Munroe et al. 1999:1773 [ref. 24729], Kottelat 2013:58 [ref. 32989]). •Synonym of Chirocentrus dorab (Fabricius 1775). Current status: Synonym of Chirocentrus dorab (Fabricius 1775). Chirocentridae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
