Type catalog: Skelton & Stuart 1987:184 [ref. 12628]. •Valid as Varicorhinus pungweensis Jubb 1959 -- (Lévêque & Daget 1984:340 [ref. 6186], Skelton 1993:175 [ref. 24071], Tweddle & Skelton 1998:381 [ref. 23328], Skelton 2001:175 [ref. 27406], Marshall 2011:107 [ref. 31755]). •Valid as Labeobarbus pungweensis (Jubb 1959) -- (Vreven et al. 2016:67 [ref. 34168]). Current status: Valid as Labeobarbus pungweensis (Jubb 1959). Cyprinidae: Torinae. Distribution: Zimbabwe and Mozambique, southeastern Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
