Lectotype: MNHN 0000-8586. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1883.7.4.38-47 [ex MNHN] (?), MNHN B-2960 [ex MNHN 0000-8586] (now 5), NMW 52732-33 (2, 8). Type catalog: Bertin & Estève 1948:14 [ref. 19574]. On p. 5 of separate. Lectotype selected by Banarescu 1983:16 (not researched). Original genus should have been Cirrhinus. •Synonym of Cirrhinus molitorella (Valenciennes 1844) -- (Wu et al. 1977:353 [ref. 4807], Zhang et al. in Yue 2000:201 [ref. 25272]). •Valid as Cirrhinus jullieni Sauvage 1878 -- (Kottelat 1984:797 [ref. 11440], Rainboth 1996:107 [ref. 22772], Doi 1997:4 [ref. 22832], Roberts 1997:187 [ref. 23550], Vu & Nguyen 1997:26 [ref. 26438], Kottelat 2001:42 [ref. 25780], Kottelat 2013:88 [ref. 32989], Taki et al. 2021:166 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Cirrhinus jullieni Sauvage 1878. Cyprinidae: Labeoninae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Chao Phraya and Mekong River basins, Thailand, southern Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Habitat: freshwater.
