Type catalog: Menon & Yazdani 1968:121 [ref. 20743]. Original genus is correctly Nemacheilus. •Status uncertain, possibly a synonym of Nemacheilus griffithii (Günther 1868) -- (see Coad 1981:13 [ref. 22348] and Coad 1995:21, 22 [ref. 23608]). •Synonym of Triplophysa stolickai (Steindachner 1866) -- (Zhu 1989:114 [ref. 17744] as stoliczae, Wu & Wu 1992:212 [ref. 21205] as stoliczkae). •Questionably a synonym of Triplophysa stolickai (Steindachner 1866) -- (Prokofiev 2006:257 [ref. 29061] as stoliczkae, Prokofiev 2007:8 [ref. 28990] as stoliczkae). •Questionably valid as Triplophysa akhtari (Lakshmanan 1950) -- (Kottelat 2012:122 [ref. 32367]). •Valid as Triplophysa akhtari (Lakshmanan 1950) -- (Çiçek et al. 2023:14 [ref. 40326]). Current status: Valid as Triplophysa akhtari (Lakshmanan 1950). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: South Asia: Helmand River (Afghanistan) endemic. Habitat: freshwater.
