Holotype: USNM 45228. Paratypes: CAS-SU 6376 (7), USNM 75164 (1). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:33 [ref. 12291]. •Valid as Moroco jouyi (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant 1874) -- (Okada 1961:492 [ref. 6363], Sawada in Masuda et al. 1984:57 [ref. 6441]). •Synonym of Phoxinus oxycephalus (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant 1874), but a valid subspecies -- (Watanabe 1998:262 [ref. 23491], Sato et al. 1998:31 [ref. 24972], Mizuno et al. 1999:6 [ref. 25311], Nakabo 2000:264 [ref. 25086], Matsuura et al. 2000:102 [ref. 26000], Nakabo 2002:264 [ref. 26001]). •Synonym of Rhynchocypris oxycephalus (Sauvage & Dabry de Thiersant 1874) but as a valid subspecies jouyi -- (Dyldin & Orlov 2016:665 [ref. 34853], Hata et al. 2019:15 [ref. 36849]). •Valid as Rhynchocypris jouyi (Jordan & Snyder 1901). Current status: Valid as Rhynchocypris jouyi (Jordan & Snyder 1901). Leuciscidae: Pseudaspininae. Distribution: East Asia: Japan. Habitat: freshwater.
