Kottelat dates pewzowi to Warpachowski 1889:41, Pl. 1 (fig. 2). •Valid as Oreoleuciscus perzowi (Herzenstein 1883) -- (Berg 1949:540 [ref. 20661]). •Synonym of Oreoleuciscus potanini Kessler 1879 -- (Bogutskaya 1998:66 [ref. 23589], Bogutskaya 2001:23 [ref. 26833], Bogutskaya & Naseka 2004:90 [ref. 28183]). •Questionably a synonym of Oreoleuciscus dsapchynensis Warpachowski 1889 -- (Kottelat 2006:42 [ref. 28831]).
