compressus, Barbus Boulenger [G. A.] 1893:202 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 6) v. 12 (no. 69); ref. 14522] Fort Stedman, southern Shan States, Indochina, elevation 3000 feet. Syntypes: BMNH 1893.6.30.43-52 (10). Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Barbus (Barbodes) compressus Day 1870, replaced by Barbus compressiformis Cockerell 1913. Also replaced by Barbus liui Fowler 1958. •Synonym of Puntius clavatus (McClelland 1845) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:265 [ref. 20764]). •Synonym of Systomus compressiformis (Cockerell 1913) -- (Kottelat 2013:165 [ref. 32989]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Systomus compressiformis (Cockerell 1913). Cyprinidae: Smiliogastrinae. Habitat: freshwater.
