Anderson & Collette 1991:159 [ref. 19112] regard the BMNH specimen as holotype but no holotype was established originally. •Valid as Hemirhamphodon pogonognathus (Bleeker 1853) -- (Roberts 1989:155 [ref. 6439], Lim et al. 1990:47 [ref. 16753], Anderson & Collette 1991:156 [ref. 19112], Brembach 1991:191 [ref. 20227], Kottelat et al. 1993:86 [ref. 23448], Ng & Tan 1999:363 [ref. 24159], Collette 2004:17 [ref. 27583], Tan & Lim 2004:110 [ref. 27716], Kottelat & Widjanarti 2005:163 [ref. 28284], Tan & Kim 2013:735 [ref. 32888], Kottelat 2013:294 [ref. 32989], Ng et al. 2019:538 [ref. 36606]). Current status: Valid as Hemirhamphodon pogonognathus (Bleeker 1853). Zenarchopteridae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Malaya (Malaysia), Sumatra, Java, Biliton and Banka Islands (Indonesia), Borneo. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
