Spelling y-cauda is not to be emended. •Valid as Quietula y-cauda (Jenkins & Evermann 1889) -- (Eschmeyer & Herald 1983:264 [ref. 9277], Castro-Aguirre et al. 1999:434 [ref. 24550] as ycauda, Ahnelt & Göschl 2003:193 [ref. 27367], Nelson et al. 2004:173 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:163 [ref. 37547], Minckley & Marsh 2009:282 [ref. 31114], Van Tassell 2011:145 [ref. 31732], Page et al. 2013:178 [ref. 32708], Kells et al. 2016:306 [ref. 35888], Love et al. 2021:206 [ref. 39279]). Current status: Valid as Quietula y-cauda (Jenkins & Evermann 1889). Gobiidae: Gobionellinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: central California (U.S.A.) south to Pacific coast of southern Baja California Sur (Mexico), including Gulf of California (Mexico). Habitat: brackish, marine.
