macrolepis, Bogoda Bleeker [P.] 1856:13 [Acta Societatis Regiae Scientiarum Indo-Neêrlandicae v. 2; ref. 13960] Kapuas River near Pontianak, Borneo, Indonesia. Holotype (unique): RMNH 5564. Spelled microlepis by some early authors. •Valid as Parambassis macrolepis (Bleeker 1856) -- (Roberts 1989:162 [ref. 6439], Kottelat et al. 1993:106 [ref. 23448], Roberts 1995:276 [ref. 22559], Kottelat & Widjanarti 2005:164 [ref. 28284], Geetakumari 2012:62 [ref. 31985], Geetakumari & Basudha 2012:3227 [ref. 32279], Kottelat 2013:322 [ref. 32989], Mayanglambam & Vishwanath 2015:587 [ref. 34026], Ghazali et al. 2024:6 [ref. 40872]). Current status: Valid as Parambassis macrolepis (Bleeker 1856). Ambassidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Myanmar, Sumatra and Borneo (Indonesia). Habitat: freshwater.
