Holotype (unique): USNM 135673. •Synonym of Labracinus cyclophthalmus (Müller & Troschel 1849) -- (Gill 1999:2571 [ref. 24817], Gill 2004:27 [ref. 27767], Ito et al. 2021:10 [ref. 38467] as japonics). Current status: Synonym of Labracinus cyclophthalmus (Müller & Troschel 1849). Pseudochromidae: Pseudochrominae. Habitat: marine.
