Holotype: BMNH 1968.3.11.7 (left skin). Type information: Whitehead 1970:212 [ref. 11606]. Possible holotype: BMNH 1868.3.11.8 (stuffed); this and 11.7 may also be syntypes of auctorum. •Synonym of Lobotes surinamensis (Bloch 1790) -- (Tortonese 1990:780 [ref. 18658], Kottelat 2013:344 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Lobotes surinamensis (Bloch 1790). Lobotidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
