Neotype: BMNH 1905.6.6.152. Originally as Corvina? albiflora. Based solely on illustration by Reeves (see Whitehead 1970:213, Pl.22c [ref. 11606]). Neotype designated by Trewavas 1977:383 [ref. 4459]. •Valid as Nibea albiflora (Richardson 1846) -- (Trewavas 1977:383 [ref. 4459], Okamura in Masuda et al. 1984:162 [ref. 6441], Chen et al. 1997:73 [ref. 26476], Cheng & Zhou 1997:291 [ref. 26385], Sasaki in Randall & Lim 2000:621 [ref. 25122], Nakabo 2000:868 [ref. 25182], Wang et al. 2001:236 [ref. 26566], Nakabo 2002:868 [ref. 26193], Choi et al. 2003:347, 621 [ref. 26218], Lo et al. 2017:11 [ref. 35288], Motomura in Kimura et al. 2018:185 [ref. 36460], Kim et al. 2020:137 [ref. 39118], Parenti 2020:32 [ref. 37439], Sonoyama et al. 2020:72 [ref. 37637]). Current status: Valid as Nibea albiflora (Richardson 1846). Sciaenidae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: South China Sea, East China Sea, Yellow Sea, Bohai Sea, southern Sea of Japan (Korea, Japan). Habitat: marine.
