Holotype: MD 6222. Paratypes: MD 5507 (3), 6222 (11), 12415 (1); MRAC 158822-27 (6). Plus more than 1300 non-types. Type catalog: Derijst 1991:46 [ref. 21528]. •Valid as Hemigrammocharax angolensis Poll 1967 -- (Daget & Gosse 1984:194 [ref. 6185], Jerep & Vari 2013:31 [ref. 32557]). •Valid as Nannocharax angolensis (Poll 1967) -- (Jerep et al. 2014:367 [ref. 33246], Jerep & Vari 2014:48 [ref. 33325], Skelton 2019:234 [ref. 36564], Musschoot 2024:344 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Nannocharax angolensis (Poll 1967). Distichodontidae. Distribution: Southwestern Africa: Angola. Habitat: freshwater.
