Holotype: BMNH 1855.12.26.474. Type listed in Günther's Catalogue of Fishes (vol. 4, p. 13) as "type of Dascyllus unicolor". •Synonym of Dascyllus trimaculatus (Rüppell 1829) -- (Allen 1991:244 [ref. 19344], Fricke 1999:378 [ref. 24106], Parenti 2021:64 [ref. 38418]). Current status: Synonym of Dascyllus trimaculatus (Rüppell 1829). Pomacentridae: Chrominae. Habitat: marine.
