Lectotype selected in Poll & Gosse 1963:15 [ref. 5137]. •Valid as Nannaethiops unifasciatus (Steindachner 1894) -- (Géry & Zarske 2003:42 [ref. 27475]). •Valid as Neolebias unifasciatus Steindachner 1894 -- (Vari 1979:329 [ref. 5490], Daget & Gosse 1984:205 [ref. 6185], Lévêque et al. 1989:116 [ref. 26480], Paugy & Bénech 1989:301 [ref. 26478], Gosse in Lévêque et al. 1990:257 [ref. 21589], Paugy et al. 1990:337 [ref. 26477] dated 1895, Dankwa et al. 1999:22 [ref. 28023] dated 1895, Vari 2007:459 [ref. 30023], Hauber et al. 2011:81 [ref. 31428], Moritz et al. 2019:143 [ref. 36792], Fermon et al. 2022:145 [ref. 39448], Musschoot 2024:353 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Neolebias unifasciatus Steindachner 1894. Distichodontidae. Distribution: Western and western-central Africa: Senegal to Central African Republic and Gabon. Habitat: freshwater.
