Type catalog: Nijssen et al. 1982:81 [ref. 19236]. •Valid as Neocentropogon aeglefinus (Weber 1913) -- (Klausewitz 1985:21 [ref. 5806], Paxton et al. 1989:444 [ref. 12442] as anglefinis, Mohsin & Ambak 1996:572 [ref. 27969] as aegelfinus, Hutchins 2001:27 [ref. 25847] as anglefinis, Allen et al. 2006:900 [ref. 29078], Quéro et al. 2011:99 [ref. 31629], Iwamoto & McCosker 2014:287 [ref. 33298], Fricke et al. 2017:1 [ref. 35210], Chungthanawong & Motomura 2021:[6] [ref. 38168]). Current status: Valid as Neocentropogon aeglefinus (Weber 1913). Synanceiidae: Tetraroginae. Distribution: Estern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Indonesia east to Philippines and Vanuatu, south to northern Australia. Habitat: marine.
