Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:25 [ref. 13621], Ferraris & Vari 1992:11 [ref. 19771] referring to as paratypes, Ferraris 2007:155 [ref. 29155]. •Valid as Amarginops ansorgii (Boulenger 1910) -- (Mo 1991:153 [ref. 19952]). •Valid as Chrysichthys ansorgii Boulenger 1910 -- (Risch 1986:14 [ref. 6190], Burgess 1989:67 [ref. 12860], Ferraris 2007:155 [ref. 29155], Skelton 2019:234 [ref. 36564]). Current status: Valid as Chrysichthys ansorgii Boulenger 1910. Claroteidae. Distribution: Southwestern Africa: Cuanza and Bengo rivers (Angola). Habitat: freshwater.
