See account of Mugil chilensis. •Valid as Pinguipes chilensis (Molina 1782) -- (Pequeño 1989:64 [ref. 14125] dating to Molina 1782). •Valid as Pinguipes chilensis Valenciennes 1833 -- (Rosa & Rosa 1987:1049 [ref. 6066], Rosa & Rosa 1998:852 [ref. 25850]). Current status: Valid as Pinguipes chilensis Valenciennes 1833. Pinguipedidae. Distribution: Southeastern Pacific. Habitat: marine.
