No types known. No types known, based on a drawing and manuscript of Burger (Boeseman 1947:127 [ref. 12876]). Taenioides lacepedei of Mori & Uchida 1934:31 [ref. 20995] is an incorrect subsequent spelling and unavailable. •Synonym of Odontamblyopus rubicundus (Hamilton 1822) -- (Lindberg & Krasyukova 1975:417 [ref. 7348]). •Valid as Odontamblyopus lacepedii (Temminck & Schlegel 1845) -- (Murdy & Shibukawa 2001:38 [ref. 25243], Kim & Park 2002:404 [ref. 25913], Nakabo 2002:1157 [ref. 26193], Murdy & Shibukawa 2003:6 [ref. 26583], Murdy 2011:112 [ref. 31729], Kim et al. 2020:173 [ref. 39118], Parenti 2021:61 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Valid as Odontamblyopus lacepedii (Temminck & Schlegel 1845). Gobiidae: Amblyopinae. Distribution: Northwestern Pacific: southern China north to Korea and southern Japan. Habitat: marine.
