Based on descriptions and drawings of several specimens seen by Maclay; only one jaw was preserved, and was subsequently lost. •Possibly a synonym of Aetobatus narinari (Euphrasen 1790) -- (Compagno 1999:497 [ref. 25589]). •Synonym of Aetobatus ocellatus (Kuhl 1823) -- (White et al. 2010:146 [ref. 30856]). •Synonym of Aetobatus mula (Forsskål 1775) -- (Kottelat 2013:30 [ref. 32989]).
