Paratypes: BMNH 1935.9.11.19 (1, with holotype), 1936.8.26.439 (1). Based on 3 specimens and on Chilodactylus macropterus (non Schneider) of authors. •Synonym of Nemadactylus gayi (Kner 1865) -- (Pequeño 2004:121 [ref. 28121]). •Valid as Nemadactylus bergi (Norman 1937) -- (Burridge 1999:414 [ref. 23946], Moura & Menezes in Menezes et al. 2003:91 [ref. 27192], Mabragaña et al. 2011:table S2 [ref. 31800], Nión et al. 2016:50 [ref. 35565], Kimura et al. 2018:68 [ref. 36401], Ludt et al. 2019:134 [ref. 36635]). Current status: Valid as Nemadactylus bergi (Norman 1937). Latridae. Distribution: Southeastern Pacific and southwestern Atlantic. Habitat: marine.
