Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:134 [ref. 13621]. •Valid as Ophichthus retifer Fowler 1935 -- (McCosker 1977:81 [ref. 6836], Dor 1984:36 [ref. 29757], Goren & Dor 1994:9 [ref. 25356]). •Synonym of Ophichthus erabo (Jordan & Snyder 1901) -- (McCosker & Castle 1986:183 [ref. 5690], Golani & Bogorodsky 2010:60 [ref. 35264], Golani & Fricke 2018:28 [ref. 36273]). Current status: Synonym of Ophichthus erabo (Jordan & Snyder 1901). Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Habitat: marine.
