quisqualis, Asterropterix semipunctatus Whitley [G. P.] 1932:300 [Great Barrier Reef Expedition, 1928-29: scientific reports. v. 4 (no. 9); ref. 4676] Queensland, Australia. Holotype: QM I.1737. Paratypes: AMS IA.4347 (6) Original genus is correctly spelled Asterropteryx. Described and figured by Ogilby 1915, Mem. Queensland Mus. v. 3, p. 125, Pl. 29 (fig. 2). Asterropteryx is feminine so correct is semipunctata. •Synonym of Asterropteryx semipunctatus [sic] Rüppell 1830 -- (Hoese & Larson 2006:1625 [ref. 29097], Parenti 2021:96 [ref. 38603]). Current status: Synonym of Asterropteryx semipunctata Rüppell 1830. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Habitat: marine.
