tawilis, Harengula Herre [A. W. C. T.] 1927:273, Pl. 1 [Philippine Journal of Science v. 34 (no. 3); ref. 2103] Lake Taal, Philippines. Holotype: BSMP 13198 (presumed destroyed). Paratypes: (77) BSMP (presumed destroyed). •Valid as Sardinella tawilis (Herre 1927) -- (Whitehead 1985:113 [ref. 5141], Munroe et al. 1999:1784 [ref. 24728], Munroe & Nizinski in Randall & Lim 2000:587 [ref. 25122], Kottelat 2013:63 [ref. 32989], Jamandre 2023:164 [ref. 40455]). Current status: Valid as Sardinella tawilis (Herre 1927). Dorosomatidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Lake Tal (Philippines). Habitat: freshwater.
