H.] 1927:76 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 9) v. 20 (no. 115) (art. 8); ref. 193] Off Cape Point, South Africa, depth 660-700 fathoms [1207-1280 meters]. Holotype (unique): SAM 12524. Also appeared as new in Barnard 1927:925 [ref. 194]. Careproctus griseldea is the adult of Careproctus albescens (Andriashev 2003 [ref. 26955]). •Valid as Careproctus albescens Barnard 1927 -- (Lloris 1982:105 [ref. 8449], Stein 1986:492 [ref. 6297], Andriashev 1998:259 [ref. 23579], Matallanas & Pequeño 2000:526 [ref. 24421], Andriashev 2003:39 [ref. 26955], Chernova et al. 2004:4 [ref. 27592], Tweddle & Anderson 2008:10 [ref. 29604], Balushkin 2012:4 [ref. 31799], Stein 2016:2295 [ref. 34616]). Current status: Valid as Careproctus albescens Barnard 1927. Liparidae. Distribution: Eastern South Atlantic: southern Angola and off Namibia to Cape Point, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa. Habitat: marine.
