fasciatus, Squalus Hermann [J.] (ex Seba) 1783:302, table at rear [Tabula affinitatum animalium olim academico specimine edita; ref. 20759] No locality, probably Indonesia. Lectotype: whereabouts unknown. Based on Squalus varius of Seba 1759:105, Pl. 34 (fig. 1); in Latin only in table. Lectotype selected by Fricke 1999:13 [ref. 24106] as the specimen represented in Seba's 1759, Pl. 34, fig 1.
