Neotype designated in Murdy 1989:30 [ref. 13628]; SU 69059 incorrectly listed as Neotype on p. 29. •Synonym of Periophthalmodon schlosseri (Pallas 1770) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:962 [ref. 20764]). •Valid in Periophthalmodon -- (Kottelat & Lim 1996:247 [ref. 23210] but wrongly as septemfasciatus). •Valid as Periophthalmodon septemradiatus (Hamilton 1822) -- (Murdy 1989:29 [ref. 13628], Kottelat et al. 1993:148 [ref. 23448], Larson in Randall & Lim 2000:639 [ref. 25122], Larson & Murdy 2001:3602 [ref. 26293], Khaironizam & Norma-Rashid 2003:97 [ref. 27104], Murdy 2011:105 [ref. 31728], Kottelat 2013:418 [ref. 32989], Murdy & Jaafar 2017:17 [ref. 35561], Iqbal et al. 2019:376 [ref. 36515], Taki et al. 2021:476 [ref. 39830]). Current status: Valid as Periophthalmodon septemradiatus (Hamilton 1822). Gobiidae: Oxudercinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: India to Vietnam. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
