Holotype: YPM 2827 (49 mm SL). Paratypes: YPM 2827 (1 of 2), 2828 (1), 2829 (3). Type catalog: Moore & Boardman 1991:9 [ref. 16741]. •Synonym of Chiasmodon niger Johnson 1864 -- (C. W. Mecklenburg, pers. comm., 21 Nov. 2002, Prokofiev 2008:212 [ref. 29559], Prokofiev & Kukuev 2009:901 [ref. 30607], Prokofiev 2010:507 [ref. 31018]). •Valid as Chiasmodon pluriradiatus Parr 1933 -- (Melo 2009:595 [ref. 30374], Melo & Stewart 2015:1449 [ref. 34290], Sutton et al. 2020:284 [ref. 37832], Fermon et al. 2022:211 [ref. 39448] with question). Current status: Valid as Chiasmodon pluriradiatus Parr 1933. Chiasmodontidae. Distribution: Atlantic; Western Indian Ocean; western and central Pacific. Habitat: marine.
