Paratypes: BMNH 1971.2.11.1-2 (2), 1976.4.7.167-171 (5), 1976.4.7.172-175 (4). •Valid as Barbus apoensis Banister & Clarke 1977 -- (Alkahem & Behnke 1983:550 [ref. 8384], Krupp 1983:579 [ref. 8320], Krupp 1985:22 [ref. 11626], Coad 1996:84 [ref. 25304]). •Valid as Carasobarbus apoensis (Banister & Clarke 1977) -- (Ekmekçi & Bănărescu 1998:93 [ref. 26519] dated 1975, Borkenhagen & Krupp 2013:7 [ref. 32915], Mohamed et al. 2016:1 [ref. 35027], Borkenhagen 2017:293 [ref. 35158], Freyhof et al. 2020:127 [ref. 37658]). Current status: Valid as Carasobarbus apoensis (Banister & Clarke 1977). Cyprinidae: Torinae. Distribution: Hijaz mountain range, Saudi Arabia. Habitat: freshwater.
