Type catalog: Moore et al. 2008:26 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Cheilodipterus parazonatus Gon 1993 -- (Allen 1997:106 [ref. 23977], Randall et al. 1997:150 [ref. 25919], Allen 1999:2607 [ref. 24812], Allen et al. 2006:1101 [ref. 29004], Allen & Erdmann 2012:377 [ref. 31980], Fricke et al. 2014:70 [ref. 33932], Mabuchi et al. 2014:198 [ref. 33426], Fricke et al. 2019:131 [ref. 36673], Kuiter & Kozawa 2019:65 [ref. 36965]). Current status: Valid as Cheilodipterus parazonatus Gon 1993. Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Indonesia east to New Ireland (Papua New Guinea), south to Great Barrier Reef (Queensland, Australia) and Solomon Islands. Habitat: marine.
