Paratypes: BMNH 1979.12.5.4-5 (2). •Valid as Encrasicholina oligobranchus (Wongratana 1983) -- (Whitehead et al. 1988:398 [ref. 5725], Wongratana et al. 1999:1716 [ref. 24719], Munroe & Nizinski in Randall & Lim 2000:588 [ref. 25122], Hata & Motomura 2015:122 [ref. 33726], Hata & Motomura 2017:6 [ref. 35066], Hata & Motomura 2020:267 [ref. 37379], Hata & Motomura 2020:[2] [ref. 37864]). Current status: Valid as Encrasicholina oligobranchus (Wongratana 1983). Engraulidae: Engraulinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia and Tonga. Habitat: marine.
