Apparently can date to Jerdon as above; Jerdon cites, "Forster, Bloch.", probably referring to Esox argenteus Forster. •Synonym of Chanos chanos (Fabricius 1775) -- (Jouladeh-Roudbar et al. 2020:30 [ref. 37983]). Current status: Synonym of Chanos chanos (Fabricius 1775). Chanidae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
