Current status: Valid as Dunckerocampus boylei Kuiter 1998. Syngnathidae: Nerophinae. Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: Aliwal Shoal (South Africa), Amirantes (Seychelles), western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius) east to Indonesia and Philippines. Habitat: marine.
