Holotype (unique): jaws, ex MAMU (whereabouts unknown). Type was from the Macleay collection and labeled with locality as "Cape of Good Hope," but Ogilby questioned the accuracy of this locality. •Synonym of Notorynchus cepedianus (Péron 1807) -- (Compagno 1984:22 [ref. 6474], Dyldin 2015:43 [ref. 34524], Ebert et al. 2021:19 [ref. 38234]). Current status: Synonym of Notorynchus cepedianus (PĂ©ron 1807). Hexanchidae. Habitat: marine.
